Trusting your instincts in the salon chair, knowing when to speak up! How we turned Sandra’s hair disaster into a beautiful hair journey!

Some of us have been there, sitting in the hairdressing chair and in your gut, you just know something doesn’t seem right.

But you say to yourself; they are a professional, they know what they are doing — Just trust them!

There is that saying — Always trust your instincts. 

Let me take you back to when I first meet Sandra. Sandra is a beautiful tall and intelligent woman. She loves her hair to be bleach blonde with a very ashy toner. Sandra was visiting a top salon on the Gold Coast and had been a few times but on her last visit, she was left with hair so broken it was beyond repair. 

 

Around her hairline had been completely broken off to about 5 or 6cm and the same around her crown area. Her hair looked like a mullet— and not the good kind! Well, if you believe there is any good kind of mullet! 

 

Sandra was so upset and didn’t know what to do or where to go! Luckily, one of her friends came to me and asked if I would be willing to take on a new client as she just needed love and support to get her through her next hair journey. 

 

I happily accepted and met Sandra; straight away, I knew I had to help her and I’m so glad I did! I assessed her hair and asked her if she wanted to stay bleach blonde. Her answer was 100% yes! She didn’t want to go any other colour. That was no problem, but she had to trust me and follow a home hair care routine to keep her dry hair hydrated.

It has been 6 months now, and her hair is starting to look great again. Strong and shiny with her perfect ashy bleach blonde and no sign of a mullet in sight!

Anyone who is going through this at the moment, I know it’s a hard road and a very frustrating one! Especially, if you had great hair before the damage. 

Hang in there, continue using a good home hair care routine and keep your hair super hydrated!

Another useful tip; don’t keep swapping hairdressers! As many don’t know what each has done to your hair or what level of products have been used before.
